About
Our School
New Covenant Academy (NCA) opened its doors in 1979. It began that fall with two teachers and 41 students, kindergarten through seventh grade. As a ministry of Church of the New Covenant (then, the Highway Tabernacle), classes were held in the basement of the old church building located on Route 6 just east of Mansfield. The second year enrollment reached 77 students with more staff joining the ministry.
Each year the next grade level was added. Soon, more space was needed if the academy was to continue growing. Thus, the church embarked upon a building project completing the educational wing first. In the fall of 1983, the academy moved to its current location at 310 Extension Street.
In 1985, we graduated our first senior class of three students. Enrollment continued to grow after that and more room was needed. So during 1990-1991, an extension of the educational wing was added onto the building.
By fall 2012, there were 173 students attending NCA, with 25 staff. This enrollment and staffing has held steady over the years. A major expansion of the church/school began in spring 2025 and includes relocating office spaces to the front of the building, adding some classrooms and enlarging others. NCA also reached a milestone in May 2025 by receiving Foundational Accreditation through Association of Christian Schools International (ACSI) and was granted candidacy status through Middle States Association (MSA).

Head of School's Welcome
Thank you for your interest in New Covenant Academy, where our goal is to provide a safe, welcoming environment for our students to grow in their relationship with God and others. Our theme for this year is “Advancing the Kingdom through Christ-Centered Excellence,” which ties in to our school mission and vision. The key verse for our theme is Matthew 6:33: “Seek first the kingdom of God and his righteousness, and all these things will be added to you.” It reminds us that our priority continues to be living right with God, and the encouragement that He will always be with us as we seek His guidance in all we do. It also emphasizes our Christian education distinctive
I look forward to meeting with our school community members throughout the year. We have a lot of exciting events planned, as well as some new opportunities for our students. We are also blessed to see the expansion of our facilities and the growth in our enrollment. I am happy to work with a great team of teachers and school leaders, joined by an active and supportive parent community.
Blessings in Christ,
Dr. Roger Dutcher

Mission and Vision
Our Mission
To partner with families by providing Christ-centered academic excellence.
Our Vision
New Covenant Academy engages and empowers students to positively impact their world for Christ.
What We Believe
We believe the Scriptures
Both the Old and New Testaments are the only inspired Word of God, without error in the original writings, the complete revelation of His will for the salvation of man, and the divine and final authority for all Christian faith and life.
We believe in one God
God is infinitely perfect and eternally existing in three persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.
We believe in God the Father
God is the Creator of all things visible and invisible, Who is true holiness, eternal power, infinite love, and absolute truth.
We believe in Jesus Christ
Jesus is both God and man, who was conceived of the Holy Spirit and born of the virgin Mary. He died on the cross as a sacrifice for our sins; He arose bodily from the dead and ascended into heaven, where, at the right hand of God, He is now our advocate and, in the person of the Holy Spirit, indwells the believer; He will return in glory to judge the living and the dead.
We believe in the Holy Spirit
The ministry of the Holy Spirit is to glorify the Lord Jesus Christ and to convict, regenerate, seal, indwell, guide, instruct, and empower believers for life and service.
We believe that man was created in the image of God
We believe that in God's creation, each person is made in His image as male or female at the time of conception. Mankind chose to sin and is, therefore, spiritually dead. Only through regeneration by the Holy Spirit can he obtain salvation and spiritual life.
We believe in the power of the blood of Jesus Christ
The Blood of Christ and His Resurrection provide the only grounds for the justification, sanctification, and glorification of those who believe, and that all who thus receive Jesus Christ are born of the Holy Spirit and become children of God.
We believe in the true church
The Church is composed of everyone who has been regenerated by the Holy Spirit through saving faith in Jesus Christ, who is its Lord and Head; and that God has called His church to worship Him, to disciple believers, and to proclaim the Gospel to all the world.
We believe in the return of Jesus
The return of our Lord Jesus Christ is imminent. This has a vital bearing on the personal life and service of the believer.
We believe that the dead will all be raised bodily
We believe that all will be judged and that believers will enjoy everlasting joy with the Lord and unbelievers will endure eternal separation from God.
We believe in the sanctity of marriage
We believe that God defines marriage as the covenant between one man and one woman and that sexual intimacy is meant to be between a husband and wife.
