About Us

Your child's journey from pre-school to graduation is filled with changes, challenges and new worlds to explore. At New Covenant Academy, our goal is to guide youth on that odyssey of discovery, with God as our navigator.

Our Christ-centered educational program prepares students to excel not only in academics, but also in life. Within the framework of our curriculum, we reinforce daily the values instilled at home and in the church. Our mission is to help each student reach his or her God-given potential and become an effective ambassador for Christ. NCA offers grades Pre-K to 12

Measuring Success

At New Covenant Academy, we integrate God's Word into every area of our school program. This focus on training of the whole child helps our students grow not just academically but spiritually, mentally, physically, socially and emotionally. We teach critical thinking skills as well as respect for others. Our commitment to an orderly, disciplined environment enables our teachers to do what they do best - teach - and our students to excel.

Ninety-two percent of NCA high school students performed in the upper half of the nation (at or above 50th N/PR) on the Basic Stanford Achievement Test.

Our students have an outstanding record of academic achievement. That's because we do things a little differently here at New Covenant. Classes are small so students get a lot of individual attention. The pupil/teacher ratio is 10:1 with a maximum of 18 students per class. Our experienced and dedicated staff ensures that students have an opportunity to explore a wide range of subjects. A variety of field trips are planned throughout the school year to help reinforce textbook material and bring students into fellowship with the community-at-large.

The most important thing to know about our highly qualified faculty is simply this: they are dedicated to Christ and committed to kids. They're here because they love to teach. We have 18 full-time and part-time faculty, many with advanced degrees.

Our graduates have a track record of success. Typically 90% of NCA's graduating seniors go on to college. Most are accepted at the college of their choice, and many receive academic scholarships. Several recent graduates have received scholarships in excess of $36,000. For some students, success means finding a job in their chosen profession after graduation. At New Covenant, we work with local employers and vocational training program staff to develop creative opportunities for our non-college bound seniors. Our goal is to help each student develop his or her God-given potential.

Parents are partners in the educational process at New Covenant. You'll find parents volunteering at New Covenant every day school is in session. Each classroom has a parent volunteer who shares their expertise and helps with special projects and a field trips. In addition, our cafeteria program is completely volunteer-run.

The parent run New Covenant Academy auxiliary is well known throughout the area for services offered and events sponsored.

Youth of any denomination, nationality, race or cultural background are welcome at New Covenant. Our projected enrollment of just over 200 students includes representatives from 38 area churches covering three counties. As a school founded on the principles of love, compassion and unity, we ask that students and parents support our efforts to provide Christ-centered education. All students must apply for admission each year. Registration acknowledges the willingness of students and their parents to abide by school policies.

Students at New Covenant can choose from a wide variety of after-school activities such as sports, art, drama, spirit club and various field trips, clubs and special programs. We offer intramural sports and interscholastic sports including soccer, basketball, track and golf.

Local public school bus transportation is available for New Covenant Academy students from Wellsboro, Northern Tioga and Southern Tioga School Districts. Bus transportation is provided from the Troy-Canton area at an additional cost and parents and volunteers transport youth from other areas.
